Values such as 500 µA, 999 µA or 1 mA may come from different markets, technical papers, company definitions or particular standards. They cannot be applied as one classification line for every microcurrent beauty device in China.
1. Why one threshold is unreliable
The effect of current through the body depends on the complete electrical condition. Direct current, pulses, frequency and pulse width can produce different stimulation at the same amplitude. A smaller electrode can create a higher local current density. Medical purpose also depends on instructions, labels and claims.
2. Parameters required together
- Maximum and typical current.
- Open-circuit and loaded voltage.
- Test load and measurement point.
- Frequency, waveform, pulse width and duty cycle.
- Constant-current or constant-voltage control.
- Electrode area, material and conductive medium.
- Duration, body area and program purpose.
3. A technical name is not a regulatory result
Terms such as microcurrent, nano-current or bioelectricity may differentiate products commercially, but regulators look at real output and intended purpose. A foreign threshold or a renamed mode does not replace Chinese product assessment.
4. Correct use of threshold data
A threshold can be one R&D and risk-comparison reference. After the intended purpose is defined, the company should measure outputs, analyse body contact and verify the actual action and safety boundary. High voltage used to maintain a small current should also be disclosed.
No single number can replace the medical-device definition, classification rules and the facts of the specific product.
